Karen Loftus and Julia Morris, Gilded Balloon

Performing newcomers to Edinburgh, Karen Loftus is a fluffy blonde
kook from Los Angeles while Aussie Julia Morris is a breathtaking
mix of sassiness and chic. First up on the duo's late-night bill
of assertive feminine stand-up, Ms. Loftus proved to be a self satirising
essay in Californian sexual frankness and emotional dysfunction.
With her infectious giggle and casual deployment of therapy-speak,
Karen claims to be "dumber than a bucket of hair". She ain't, though,
and her motor-mouthed schtick is sharp and funny enough to draw
blood.
